An extensive extended journey circling Australia is being halted days after the fatal incident of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the vessel on a remote island.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the group for a pause. The vessel departed without her and came back after some time after the crew became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation found her person the subsequent day.

Investigative bodies are examining the incident, alongside law enforcement and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company stated that passengers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the rest of the cruise had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".
